Copyright and Permission
Copyright and Licensing Policy
1. Copyright Ownership
Authors who publish with JACEDB retain full copyright of their work without any restrictions.
By submitting an article to the journal, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher. Authors also grant any third party the right to use the article freely as long as its integrity is maintained and its original authors, citation details, and publisher are identified.
2. Licensing Terms
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
Under this license, third parties (the public) are permitted to:
-
Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
-
Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material.
Under the following terms:
-
Attribution: Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.
-
Non-Commercial: Users may not use the material for commercial purposes.
Note for Authors: Because authors retain full copyright, the "Non-Commercial" restriction of the license does not apply to the authors themselves. Authors are free to use their own work for commercial purposes (e.g., in a book or professional collection) without seeking permission from the journal.
3. Author Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)
Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their personal website) at any stage of the process:
-
Pre-print: Version before peer review.
-
Accepted Manuscript: Version after peer review but before formatting.
-
Version of Record: The final published PDF.
Such deposits help in early dissemination and increase citation. We request that authors provide a link/DOI to the final published version on the JACEDB website when archiving the Version of Record.
4. Third-Party Material
If a submitted article contains material (such as images, tables, or long text excerpts) already protected by prior copyright, the author is responsible for obtaining written permission from the copyright holder to reproduce that material. Written evidence of these permissions must be provided to the editorial office upon request.
