Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Agricultural Research, Innovation and Technology (IJARIT) publishes high-quality original research articles, review articles, short communications, and case studies across all disciplines of agricultural science (see Aims & Scope).

All manuscripts must adhere strictly to the guidelines below. Submissions that do not meet these criteria, or that do not comply with the Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement, will be returned to authors prior to peer review.

1. Article Types & Scope

  • Original Research Articles: Comprehensive empirical studies presenting novel scientific findings. 4,000–8,000 words, including abstract, references, tables, and figures.
  • Review Articles: Critical overviews of key developments, emerging trends, and technologies in agricultural science. 6,000–10,000 words; may be submitted directly or by invitation.
  • Short Communications: Concise reports of preliminary findings or a significant single-experiment result. Up to 2,500 words, maximum 3 tables/figures.
  • Case Studies: Applied or field-based accounts of practical relevance to agricultural practice or policy. 3,000–6,000 words, with an emphasis on context, intervention, and outcome.

2. Language

Manuscripts must be submitted in clear, grammatically correct English. Authors who are not native English speakers are encouraged, though not required, to have their manuscript reviewed by a colleague fluent in scientific English, or a professional editing service, prior to submission.

3. Preprints

IJARIT permits the submission of manuscripts previously deposited on a recognized preprint server. Authors should disclose the preprint DOI/link at submission and update the preprint record with a link to the published version upon acceptance.

4. Mandatory File Preparation & Anonymization

To support IJARIT's double-blind peer review process (see Peer Review & Ethics), authors must submit two separate files in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx):

File 1: Title Page

  • Full title — concise and informative, avoiding non-standard abbreviations.
  • Author details — full names, institutional affiliations, city, and country for all co-authors, consistent with the authorship criteria in the Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement.
  • Validated ORCID iDs for all listed authors.
  • Corresponding author's full name, postal address, and active institutional email.
  • Acknowledgements & funding — institutional support, grants, and grant numbers.
  • Conflict of interest statement.

File 2: Main Manuscript

  • Contains the Title, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, Tables, Figures, and References.
  • Strict anonymization: author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, funding details, and identifying self-citations must be completely removed.

5. Formatting Specifications & Manuscript Structure

  • Page setup: A4, 2.54 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides.
  • Typography: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, fully justified.
  • Line & page numbers: Continuous line numbering and page numbering throughout.
  • Units & nomenclature: SI units throughout. Scientific (botanical/zoological) names italicized with full binomial nomenclature at first mention (e.g., Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze).

(A downloadable manuscript template pre-formatted to these specifications is available at Submission Template link to simplify compliance.)

Manuscript Layout Order
