Bangladesh Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is the official Journal of Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh. This Journal is going to be published biannually with the aim to encourage, promote and increase knowledge in wide field of Medical Science through publication of original articles, review articles and case reports.
Submission of manuscripts All articles submitted to the journal must comply with these instructions. Failure to do so will result in return of the manuscript and possible delay in publication. The original manuscript and two good quality copies should be submitted to the Editor Bangladesh Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Papers are accepted for publication in the journal with the understanding that the material has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. This must be stated in the covering letter. The covering letter must contain an acknowledgement that all authors are in agreement with content of the manuscript.
Preparation of the manuscript Manuscript should be prepared in modified Vancouver style following uniform manuscript writing method. The length of the article (including reference, tables and appendices etc.) should not exceed 5000 word. Submission should be printed double spaced, on one side of A4 paper.
Parts of the Manuscript Manuscript should be presented in the order as title page, abstract and key words, text, acknowledgments, references, appendices, tables & figures.
Title page The page should contain full name of each author with institutional affiliation, name and address of the institute where the work was done. The full postal and email address, fax and telephone number at which correspondence should be done is desired.
Abstract and key words All articles must have a structured abstract, It should use subheadings to divide the section of their manuscript: objective(s), materials and methods, results and conclusion.
Materials and Methods It should include the setting of the study, the subjects (number and type), the treatment or intervention and the type of statistical analysis used.
Result The results should include the outcome of the study and the statistical significance. Each table should be typed in a separate page, figures should be drawn professionally in black and white, X-ray or slide should be photographed in glossy paper in black and white. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively in numerical order.
Acknowledgement The source of financial grants and other funding should be acknowledged. The contribution of the colleagues or institutions should also be acknowledged.
Reference The Vancouver system of reference should be used in the text. The reference should be numbered and listed in order of appearance in the text. Reference to unpublished data should not appear in the list.
Manuscript on disk Authors are required to provide manuscripts on disk. Authors should supply their accepted paper as formatted text. It is essential that the hard ware and the word processing package are specified on the disk (e.g IBM, World 2004 or word 5.1).
Acceptance The acceptance criteria for all papers are the quality and originality of the research. In the Journal, manuscripts are peer reviewed by two anonymous reviewers. The Editorial Board reserves the right to refuse any material for publication.

Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL) is a member of the Ubiquity Partner Network coordinated by Ubiquity Press. According to the EU definitions, BanglaJOL is the data controller, and Ubiquity Press are the service providers and data processors. Ubiquity Press provide the technical platform and some publishing services to BanglaJOL and operate under the principle of data minimisation where only the minimal amount of personal data that is required to carry out a task is obtained.

We regularly backup our databases, and we use reliable cloud service providers (Amazon, Google Cloud, Linode) to ensure they are kept securely. Backups are regularly rotated and the old data is permanently deleted. We have a clear internal data handling policy, restricting access to the data and backups to key employees only. In case of a data breach, we will report the breach to the affected users, and to the press/journal contacts within 72 hours.
Personal information is only used to deliver the services provided by the publisher. Personal data is not shared externally except for author names, affiliations, emails, and links to ORCiD and social media accounts (if provided) in published articles and books which are displayed as part of the article/book and shared externally to indexes and databases. If a journal operates under open peer review then the reviewer details are published alongside the reviewer details.
