Submission of Manuscripts
Papers are accepted for publication with an understanding that they are submitted only to the Journal of Dhaka National Medical College Hospital and are subject to pre-review and editorial revision. This paper must not be submitted else where before rejection of it by this journal authority. Statement and opinions expressed in the papers, communications and letter here are those of author(s) and not necessarily those of the editor or publisher. Preparation of manuscripts
Manuscripts should be typed on one side of white good quality paper, with margins of at least 25 mm and using double space throughout. Each component of the manuscript should begin on a new page in the sequence of title page, abstract, text, reference, tables and legends for illustration. The title page should include the title of the paper, name of the author(s), name of the department(s) to which the work should be attributed. The text should be presented in the form of Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References.
Citation
The authors name should be listed in the text with year, Examples: Douglas, 1963, Nicholas and Henry, 1979. For 3 or more authors: Sobhan et al 1979.
References
References should be numbered in the order in which they appear in the text. At the end of the paper the full list of references should give the names of all authors, unless there are more than 6, when only the first 3 should be given, followed by et al. The authors name are followed by the title of the paper, the title of the journal abbreviated according to the style of Index Medicus, year of publication, the volume, number, and the relevant page numbers of the articles. Reference to books should give the name of editors, place of publication, publisher, year and relevant page.

Tables
Each table should be typed on separate sheet. Table should have brief title for each and should be numbered consecutively using Roman numerals and as cited in the text. Internal horizontal and vertical rules should not be used.
Illustration
All drawings should be made with black Indian ink on white paper. Photograph and Photomicrographs should be supplied as glossy black and white prints unmounted. Legend for each illustration should be submitted in separate sheets. All photographs, graphs and diagrams should be referred to as figures numbered in the text in Arabic numerals.
Abbreviation
Except for units of measurement, abbreviations are discouraged. Consult for Scientific style and Format in the CBE Manual for Authors, Editors and Publishers (Sixth edition New York: Cambridge University Press, 1994) for lists of standard abbreviations. The first time an abbreviation appears it should be preceeded by the words for which it stands.
Drug Names
Generic names should generally be used. When proprietary brands are used in research, include the brand name in parentheses in the Methods section.
Permission
Materials taken from other sources must be accompanied by a written statement from both author and publishers giving permission to the Journal for reproduction.
Obtain permission in writing from at least one author of papers still in press, unpublished data and personal communications.

Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL) is a member of the Ubiquity Partner Network coordinated by Ubiquity Press. According to the EU definitions, BanglaJOL is the data controller, and Ubiquity Press are the service providers and data processors. Ubiquity Press provide the technical platform and some publishing services to BanglaJOL and operate under the principle of data minimisation where only the minimal amount of personal data that is required to carry out a task is obtained.

We take seriously our duty to process your personal data in a fair and transparent way. We collect and manage user data according to the following Privacy Policy. This document is part of our Terms of Service, and by using the press portal, affiliated journals, book, conference and repository websites (the “Websites”), you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service. We regularly backup our databases, and we use reliable cloud service providers (Amazon, Google Cloud, Linode) to ensure they are kept securely. Backups are regularly rotated and the old data is permanently deleted. We have a clear internal data handling policy, restricting access to the data and backups to key employees only. In case of a data breach, we will report the breach to the affected users, and to the press/journal contacts within 72 hours.
Personal information is only used to deliver the services provided by the publisher. Personal data is not shared externally except for author names, affiliations, emails, and links to ORCiD and social media accounts (if provided) in published articles and books which are displayed as part of the article/book and shared externally to indexes and databases. If a journal operates under open peer review then the reviewer details are published alongside the reviewer details.

In the case that control of data changes to or from Ubiquity Press and a third party, or in the case of change of ownership of Ubiquity Press or of part of the business where the control of personal data is transferred, we will do our best to inform all affected users and present the options.
