Mymensingh Medical Journal [ISSN: 1022-4742 & NLM Unique ID: 9601799] is a peer reviewed journal published biannually in January and July by Mymensingh Medical College, Mymensingh -2200, Bangladesh. In addition to recognition by the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council; Mymensingh Medical Journal has been indexed and included in Index Medicus and MEDLINE. Databases in the MEDLARS system are available online in the U.S. and throughout the world. Citations from the articles indexed, the indexing terms, and the English abstract printed in the journal will be included in the databases. Web site of PubMed is PubMed.

The following are the minimum requirements for manuscripts submitted for publication, which is based on Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
Author(s) should give their name and initial with cell phone numbers, their posts & institutional affiliation at the time they did their work and their highest academic degree(s) with name & address of the author responsible for correspondence about manuscript in the title page. Article must be accompanied by a forwarding letter, signed by all authors, containing statements that they are the only authors, that is not under consideration by another journal, and that this material has not been previously published. Paper is accepted after peer review by the expert(s) as per recommendations.
Two copies should be submitted. If the manuscript is rejected, it may be returned if postage is covered. Typing should be on one side of the A4 size paper in the English language, with double spacing between the lines and 5cm margin at the left-hand side of the sheet. Authors are encouraged to provide a copy in electronic form (on a disc) with adequate labelling.
Standard abbreviations may be used. Avoid abbreviations in the title and abstract. However, the full term for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text unless it is a standard unit of measurement.
Statistical procedure should be described in the material and methods section and supported by reference to enable a knowledgeable reader with access to the original data to verify the reported results.
Tables and illustrations should be separate from the text of the paper. Tables should be simple and should not duplicate in the text of the article. Do not use internal horizontal and vertical rules. The uses of too many tables are not encouraged.
References must be in the Vancouver style and must be verified by the author(s) against the original documents before submission. They should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text.
The Editor reserves the customary right to style and if necessary shorten the material accepted for publication and to determine the priority and time of publication. The Editor assumes that work is based on honest observations. It is not a task of the Editor to investigate scientific fraud paper.

Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL) is a member of the Ubiquity Partner Network coordinated by Ubiquity Press. According to the EU definitions, BanglaJOL is the data controller, and Ubiquity Press are the service providers and data processors. Ubiquity Press provide the technical platform and some publishing services to BanglaJOL and operate under the principle of data minimisation where only the minimal amount of personal data that is required to carry out a task is obtained.

We regularly backup our databases, and we use reliable cloud service providers (Amazon, Google Cloud, Linode) to ensure they are kept securely. Backups are regularly rotated and the old data is permanently deleted. We have a clear internal data handling policy, restricting access to the data and backups to key employees only. In case of a data breach, we will report the breach to the affected users, and to the press/journal contacts within 72 hours.
Personal information is only used to deliver the services provided by the publisher. Personal data is not shared externally except for author names, affiliations, emails, and links to ORCiD and social media accounts (if provided) in published articles and books which are displayed as part of the article/book and shared externally to indexes and databases. If a journal operates under open peer review then the reviewer details are published alongside the reviewer details.

In the case that control of data changes to or from Ubiquity Press and a third party, or in the case of change of ownership of Ubiquity Press or of part of the business where the control of personal data is transferred, we will do our best to inform all affected users and present the options.
