Renal scintigraphy is a diagnostic procedure that uses nuclear medicine to examine the anatomy and function of kidneys. This work has been carried out to evaluate bio-distribution of different agents (MAG3, DMSA, and DTPA) for scintillation scan for renal function and measure internal dosimetry of patients by image-based technique. The correlation of the results using different types of radiopharmaceuticals (MAG3, DMSA, DTPA) in renal scintigraphy procedures in nuclear medicine and correlation of MIRD software and Image based dosimetry have also been studied. The deviation of error according to two methods for three cases (DTPA, DMSA and MAG3) was below 20%; which is well accepted for quantitative studies with tracer bio-distribution.
