Focus and Scope
The Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College Journal (CMOSHMC Journal), is a multi-disciplinary peer-reviewed journal published by Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College.
Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College is one of the best medical colleges of Bangladesh, as reflected by the performances of students in examinations of University of Chittagong and rated amongst top three of private Medical Colleges in Bangladesh. A very good number of academicians and researchers are working in this institute. The college is publishing its scientific journal, Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College Journal (CMOSHMC Journal), since July 2002. The journal is recognized by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) and has a vast reader base across the country. The journal publishes articles of authors from any part of the globe, but has a special interest in publishing research articles of authors from Bangladesh and of relevance to developing countries. It publishes original research articles, review articles, short communications, case reports and letters on new findings.
The CMOSHMC Journal is published in English 3 times (January, May and September) a year. No separate supplements are published as of now. Appropriate measures were taken to make the journal indexed/abstracted in major international indexing systems including the PubMed/MEDLINE, Index Medicus, Google Scholar, DOAJ, Hinari and Scopus etc.
EDITORIAL POLICIES: The Journal has adopted the following editorial policies:
- The Journal has emphasis on speedy publication. Most articles are published within 12 weeks of acceptance.
- Preference is given to those articles from and dealing with issues relevant to developing countries.
- Papers that are well-written and presented in the style of journal are eligible for a fast track review. We strongly encourage authors to obtain help with English writing if it is not their first language, and to pay careful attention to the "Instructions for Authors” which is found at the end of each issue and at the journal website.
- Health-care professionals sometimes report lessons they have learned from their experience. Often these are important lessons and may be reported in working papers and monographs. While these may be valuable, they may also be biased, and the data may not be sufficiently robust to insure reliability. The Journal, therefore, prefers to consider those articles that describe well-designed studies and are substantiated by adequate data.
The Journal is available through the Internet at http://www.banglajol.info/index.php/CMOSHMCJ to increase the access of readers to the papers published in it.
Peer Review Process
Publication of research articles by CMOSHMC Journal is dependent primarily on their scientific validity and coherence as judged by our external expert editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is comprehensible and whether the work represents a useful contribution to the field.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
