Author Guidelines

Only original and unpublished papers are accepted. Upon review by the Editorial Board and subject experts, the paper is either returned to the author(s) for revisions (if necessary), or rejected. The author must ensure that the paper is complete, grammatically correct and without spelling or typographical errors.

Two copies of type-written manuscripts, double-spaced throughout, should be sent to the Editor. However, soft copies of the manuscripts could also be submitted to the email address of the Editor (editorbjlis@yahoo.com). The papers should follow the Harvard style. The contributors are advised to follow the guidelines given below:

The title page should comprise: title of paper, name(s) and surname of author(s), institute, the address to which communication regarding the papers should be directed and the email address(es) of the contributor(s).

The publications should be cited in the text: (Rahman, 2012) using the first named author's name or (Rahman and Biswas, 2012) citing both names of two, or (Rahman et al., 2012), when there are three or more authors. At the end of the paper a reference list in alphabetical order should be supplied:

For books
Surname, Initials (year), Title of Book, Publisher, Place of publication.

e.g. De Landa, M. (1997), A Thousand Years of Nonlinear History, Zone Books, New York, NY.

For journals
Surname, Initials (year), "Title of article", Journal Name, volume, number, pages.

e.g. Dent, V. F. (2007), "Local economic development in Uganda and the connection to rural community libraries and literacy", New Library World, Vol. 108 No. 5/6, pp. 203-17.

For newspaper articles (authored)
Surname, Initials (year), "Article title", Newspaper, date, pages.

e.g. Islam, M. S. (2012), "Arresting Regulatory Failure in the Financial System ", The Daily Star, 31 August, p. 14.

For electronic sources
If available online, the full URL should be supplied at the end of the reference, as well as a date that the resource was accessed.

e.g. Makenzi, M. (2004). "Reaching out to the less advantaged: reading tents in Kenya", available at http://archive.ifla.org/IV/ifla70/papers/081e-Makenzi.pdf (accessed 11 April 2011).

Standalone URLs, i.e. without an author or date, should be included either within parentheses within the main text, or preferably set as a note (roman numeral within square brackets within text followed by the full URL address at the end of the paper).
